Easy Steps to Oven Bake
-
Use Alcohol to thoroughly

properly
-
Transfer a design by
using transfer paper or drawing directly on the Porcelain.
-
Next paint each surface,
applying one colour at a time or using traditional porcelain painting
techniques. - Texturing - Colour plus matt medium - Marbling and
background - Transparency effects and superimposition's - Outlining.
-
Allow to air-dry for 24
hours prior to baking. Extend air-drying if colours are applied
thickly.
-
Place creation in a cold
oven and set the temperature at 150 deg C - 160 deg C. Bake for 35
minutes, timing from the when the temperature stabilizes at the
desired temperature level. Turn the oven off and allow your creation

Porcelaine
150 Helpful Hints
 |
Avoid Specially
treated surfaces (for instance, Arc opal glass) do not allow colours
to adhere properly.
|
 |
Check your ovens
temperature control with a thermometer before oven-drying your
creations.
|
 |
Respect the
recommended oven drying temperature and time: if they are reduced,
glazing will not occur. If they are increased, colours tend to brown,
although hardness improves. For large pieces, oven time should be
extended by about 10 minutes.
|
 |
A slight odour may
be noticed during oven-drying. It is totally harmless.
|
 |
These are general
guidelines only. It is recommended that you carry out a few tests
before working on your own creations.
|
 |
you can paint over
areas that have already been baked, however the adherence could be
reduced.
|
 |
Porcelaine 150
colours are ready to use, but may be diluted with water if desired.
Excessive dilution may reduce colour adherence. Dilution of up to 10%
with water is acceptable, however this will reduce colour adherence.
In our experience, if the item is for any use other than decoration,
it is advisable NOT TO DILUTE.
|
 |
Ensure your paint
brush is clean and dry. It is recommended that a fresh dry brush is
used for each colour to avoid dilution.
|
 |
Colour No43, Ivory
is pure white when applied from the jar, however this colour darkens
to Ivory when baked. (indicating that baking is done)
|
 |
Always ensure the
article is completely dry before baking. Porcelaine 150 is a water
based paint, if it is completely dry before baking any water left in
the paint will boil and result in bubbling of the paint. Increase your
drying time if you have added several layers of paint or applied
heavy outlining. Paint that is not fully dry will BLISTER
when baked.
