SCULPEY III INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

adult supervision.
CAUTION: Read the instructions before use, follow them and
keep them for reference.
CONTENTS: Modelling material consists of PVC and plasticizer
(phthalic acid esters of straight chain aliphatic alcohols, from C6 upwards).
BASIC INSTRUCTIONS
Wash hands and make sure work surface is clean. Work the clay on marble, glass,
Formica, Lucite, aluminium foil, butcher's paper or baking parchment. Avoid direct contact with wooden or fine
furniture. Knead clay until soft and smooth. Shape into the desired form and detail as required. Larger pieces
may need bulking out inside with crushed aluminium foil. Thin areas may need armature wire for support. Work from light
colours to dark colours. To clean hands use isopropyl alcohol, baby oil, or
handy-wipes and then soap and water. Baking the clay must be carried out by the supervising adult. Bake
on an oven-proof glass surface at 130°C (275°F) for 15 minutes per 6mm (I/4") of thickness. Thicker pieces may require
additional baking time. Let piece cool completely. Check the
accuracy of your oven. Do NOT over bake. Use GOOD ventilation. Do NOT use a microwave oven. NOTE. toaster
ovens should be set 20° lower as the items .are closer to the heating element.
Painting -SCULPEY can be painted or glazed with good quality
water based acrylic paint such as Pebeo
Deco.
Sanding -When sanding baked clay items, wear a face mask,
use wet/dry sandpaper, and sand under running water
Gluing -Broken pieces can be glued with super glue GEL
(nit liquid)
Storage -SCULPEY polymer clay products will remain fresh
if stored in a very cool area, away from heat and
direct sunlight. Wrap in plastic bag or aluminium foil for storage.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Do not place the modelling clay in the mouth. Do not place modelling clay on fine furniture. Do not exceed a temperature of
130°C (275°F) or harmful gases may be produced. Do not exceed a hardening time of 30 minutes. The hardening process is
not a part of the function of the toy and should be carried out by the supervising adult. Use a domestic oven thermometer, e.g.
bimetal, to accurately measure the temperature. Do not use a glass thermometer. Do not use a microwave oven.
Keep younger children under the age of eight and animals away
from the activity area. Store SCULPEY modelling compound out of the reach of young children. Wash hands after working with the
polymer clay. Clean all equipment after use. Do not use any equipment that has not been supplied with the set or
recommended in the instructions for use. Do not eat, drink or smoke in the activity area.
First Aid -In case of accidental overheating and inhalation of
poisonous gases remove person to fresh air and seek immediate medical advice. Bring the polymer clay materials and the package
with you.
Disposal -Used SCULPEY polymer clay can be disposed with the
normal garbage.
