Laminating with
Lamitax to make a Lampshade Cover
5 easy Steps to creating a Lampshade cover using
Lamitex
1.Cut a sheet of Lamitex (matt
recommended) to the exact size of the lampshade you wish to cover, leaving
a small overlap for joining.
2. Lay the Lamitex sheet flat
with the coasted side up. The coated side can be identified by scraping
your fingernail over the lamitex. It will leave a mark on the coated side.
3.cut the fabric you wish to
cover your lamp shade with approximately 2cm larger than the lamitex on
all sides.
4. Prepare your fabric by ironing
it to remove any creases etc. Place the fabric over the coated side of
lamitex and iron the fabric for about 2 minutes on a medium (silk) setting
120 deg Celsius.
5. Allow the laminated fabric to
cool. Remove excess fabric with a craft knife or scissors.
