MECHANICAL EYELET TOOLSET 2.5 & 3.5mm eyelets This is a MUST HAVE tool for all card makers and scrapbookers alike. No need for a hammer. This new mechanical eyelet tool makes perfect holes quickly with the minimum of effort. Instead of using a hammer the setter tool now has a mechanical striker built into the tool. Instructions for use: Cutting the eyelet hole Work on a hard flat surface such as a piece of hardboard or an old self sealing cutting mat. screw on either the 2.5 mm or 3.5mm cutting tool. Position your eyelet tool on your project, ensuring you have your old cutting mat or board behind. While holding the tool firmly to the project, pull up on the mechanical striker. Release the striker. Lift the eyelet tool to reveal your eyelet hole. Instructions for use: Inserting your eyelet. Push the eyelet through the hole from the front of your project. Instructions for use: Setting the eyelet Change the eyelet cutter head to the setting head. position the setting tool on the eyelet hold the setting tool vertical to the project. pull up the striking tool. Release the striking tool. Job done. A perfectly completed eyelet with the minimum of fuss. Hints and tips. If your backing board is too hard, the cutting tool may have problems making a perfect cut. Simply rotate the tool 1/3 of a turn. Restrike. Turn a further 1/3 and restrike. Alternatively try using a backing board with a little bit more give, allowing the perforating tool to make a clean cut every time. We used an old self healing cutting mat giving a perfect result every time.
