Pebeo Setasilk Fabric Paint for Silk Fabrics Is a pigment based heat-fixed paint for silks Made from finel dispersed pigments and resins Setasilk colours are vivid, intense and very bright Setasilk colours mix harmoniously to offer a palette of rich and refined shades. Pebeo Setasilk Silk Paint is suitable for all traditional silk painting techniques.
Properties of Setasilk Heat-fixed colours for silk in liquid form. 29 colours that can be mixed together. 12 iridescent water based gutta for outlining. Vivid and intense colours. Good colour matching after application. Formulation with no co-solvent. Odourless Thinner: water. Good resistance to hand washing after fixing. retains silk's flexibility and gloss. Fixing: with iron, 3 or 4 minutes (cotton position). Setasilk can be used on all types of silk: Twill Pongee Crepe de chine Georgette Damask Before use the silk should be either: Stretched over a wooden or Fixed to a piece of felt with an adhesive (this more practical for items such as ties). Setasilk colours retain the silks gloss and suppleness. Fixed simply by ironing.
Setasilk Painting Techniques. Setasilk can be used with all silk painting techniques: Outlining Salt dusting Watercolour on dry or damp silk. Crackling wax Drawing wax batik Mahaju etc. Flat tints are produced without zoning. Mix with Setasilk thinner to produce bright pastel shades. Setasilk Guttas. Setasilk has 12 water based guttas. Heat-fixed pigments and resin. Suitable for outlining. Iridescent guttas pass perfectly over the fabric without bleeding. Applied directly from the tube or applicator, they can be applied both: Freshly, or When dry. Once fixed with an iron, water based guttas* are not removed by washing. * Except for clear water based gutta, which is removed by water.	Salt technique

Hints and Recommendations. Some silks require a pre-wash before painting, to eliminate the sizing. Wait for colours to dry before fixing. Fix, by ironing on the reverse side for about 3 to 4 minutes with a hot iron (cotton setting). Wait 48 hours after fixing before hand washing or dry cleaning.
