QuixStamping in 5 easy steps |
 | Step1 - Preparation
 | In addition to the items being stamped, you will also require a paper pad, Quixstamper pens and Quixstamper pads. |
 | First you will need to prime the pen points with ink. |
 | Remove the caps from each pen you will be using and apply the points to a tester pad of paper. |
 | Each point is spring loaded. With each depression on the point a valve opens inside the pen and ink is applied to the hidden part of the point. The thick ink is absorbed into, and runs along the point. |
 | Pump the point up and down 20 times, taking around 1 second for each depression. Then leave the pens horizontal for around 10 minutes while the ink soaks along the nib. |

 | Step 2 - Inking the Quixstamper™
 | Apply your choice of ink directly to the grey parts of the stamp image. You can be as detailed as you like and can apply as many colours as you require. |
 | Don't worry if the ink touches the shiny part of the rubber. Ink will only be absorbed into the grey areas of the image, and the grey areas change colour as they absorb the ink. |

 | Step 3 - Testing the image
 | After applying the colours to the rubber stamp, apply the quixstamper to the test paper and stamp out 5 or 6 test impressions. |
 | By the 6th impressions any excess ink that has covered the shiny parts of the stamp will have been offset onto the tester pad and you will see the resulting clear impression. |
 | At this point you can either commence stamping your image onto card or paper, or apply more ink to the rubber stamp to intensify the colours. |

 | Step 4 - Applying the impressions
 | When applying the rubber stamp to you work ensure that the stamp is applied firmly and does not skid. |
 | For multiple images try to apply each impression with the same degree of hand pressure. |
 | It is reasonable to expect up to 50 good quiality impressions from a fully inked Quixstamper. |
 | The longer you hold the Quixstamper to your work the more ink is applied, and the fewer impressions you will get before re-inking is required. |

 | Step 5 - Re-Inking
 | If you wish to re-ink, simply re-apply the colours you require. |
 | If you wish to change the colour arrangement. Before re-inking, stamp out as much ink as you can until the images become feint. |
 | Apply your new colour choices to the rubber and follow steps 3 and 4 again. |
 | Subsequent ink applications can blend within the stamp with previously applied colour, albeit to to a small degree. Such Quixstamper effects lead to colour blending typical of water colour paint. |
